今日も続く新型ウイルスの猛威は、人間が地球のエコシステムの頂点に居ないことを教えてくれました。しかし、自然を超克する事で築いた文明の豊かさを享受してきた私たちは、もう他の生物のように自然には戻れません。
人間が地球と共生する為には、環境倫理的な部分だけでなく、文化、経済、思想、表現などを含めた人間の在り方を見直す必要があるのではないでしょうか？その第一歩として、”HUMANITY”展では、アート制作の中で人間そのものを再度見直し、作品として昇華させる２名の現代アーティストにスポットライトを当てます。
水戸部七絵は、匿名の顔や、欧米の70年代から現代に至るまでのスターと呼ばれる著名人をモチーフに絵を描き続けています。今では、マスクにより没個性となった人間の“顔”ですが、本来私たちは夫々に個性があり、画一的な存在ではありません。彼女の作品は、人が“顔”を通じて、再び社会性を取り戻せるのではないか、というテーマを喚起させます。また、絵具を厚く塗り込む作風は、平面アートの概念を超越した立体的な表現を可能にさせます。
高山夏希は、アートを通して人と世界との距離を再定義することによって、社会における人の存在意義を模索しています。彼女の絵筆を使わず、注射器を用いる独特の制作方法が実現する、境界を作らずに空間や対象を線で繋げる表現は、私たち一人一人がこの世界を構成する１つのピースである事、そして地球を共有する人類と自然、動物との繋がりのあり方を再考させます。

One of many things COVID-19 situation prove is that human being is not top of the ecosystem. At this point after we have built all those prosperity by destroying mother nature, we can’t live without technology unlike any other animals. I believe it’s essential for all of us to reconsider the way we ought to be as one of a human to help earth cope with 7 billion. We focus on two contemporary artists who create paintings filled with thought-provoking messages about the world today in our “HUMANITY” exhibition.
Nanae Mitobe– has been painting anonymous portraits and European public figures from the 70s as a concept. It’s hard to see an individual character due to Mask Mandate in this day and age, but originally we are all unique (and that’s beautiful). Her art appeals that it is possible for us to regain sociality through our “faces” and the way she applies coloring materials thick give paintings a more plastic impression.
Natsuki Takayama – is seeking purpose to live as a human in our society by redefining the gap between people and the world through art. Her unique way of painting using a syringe gives her art more expressive by connecting space and objects instead of dividing them. The fact that we are one of the parts that made up the world today and the connection between the mother earth and living creatures/nature will make you ponder.

神奈川県生まれ
2011年名古屋造形大学卒業
2019年 ホルベイン・スカラシップ奨学生
2016年~現在 阿佐ヶ谷美術専門学校非常勤講師
2021年 東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科絵画専攻油画 在籍
現在、千葉のスタジオを拠点に作家活動を行っている。2021年から東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科絵画専 攻油画 (油画第一研究室) 在籍、画家 小林正人を師事する。以前から描く対象として象徴的な人物の存在 を描いたが、2014年のアメリカでの滞在制作をきっかけに「DEPTH」シリーズを発表。2016年の愛知県美 術館での個展を開催し、2020年に愛知県美術館に「I am a yellow」が収蔵される。近年は、寺田倉庫に新 設されたコレクターズミュージアム「WHAT」に高橋コレクションから出展、2020年「VOCA展2021」で 鎮西芳美氏(東京都現代美術館)に推薦され、VOCA 奨励賞を受賞した。
＜高山夏希 Natsuki Takayama＞
東京生まれ
2014年 東京造形大学 造形学部美術学科 絵画専攻 卒業
2016年 東京造形大学大学院 造形研究科 美術専攻領域 修了
主な個展に、「Mnēmosynē」 （Brooks Brothers 青山本店/ 東京/ 2019）、「Tangled Colors」
（西武渋谷店/ 東京/ 2018）。近年「VOCA展2020 現代美術の野望-新しい平面の作家たち- 」
（上野の森美術館/ 東京/ 2019）、「群馬青年ビエンナーレ2019」（ 群馬県立近代美術館/ 群馬/ 2019）にて発表。2016年に「アートアワードトーキョー丸の内2016」後藤繁雄賞、2014年に「東京造形大学 修了制作展」ZOKEI賞を受賞。また活動は幅広く、2018年にファッションブランド VIVIENNE TAM の日本上陸20周年を記念しコラボアイテムを発表した事は大きな話題を呼んだ。
